This might require a private message sent, cause I can't list every single item. I need to apply for renters/home owners insurance. The insurers know about the dolls, and say that in order to get them covered I need to make a note of the value of each doll and her separate collections. Does anyone know a doll appraiser, or even someone on this board who if I sent the list to you can give a detail estimate of each items worth so I can determine how much my insurances is going to be.

Personally if it were up to me, I would take them and their items everywhere with me so I can keep them safe (motherly safe). But... I am in college and I am sure my teacher would not appreciate me taking up a few desks with my dolls

You can at least get an idea of original value from Meg's site, she lists all the prices they originally sold for. I'm really not sure, will insurance cover something like a collectible for a supposed value? I mean, since the market for some things can change all the time, like for the beanie-babies. Just wondering.

I would get amounts from ebay when possible on the items that are no longer available or are PM. Go with a high-end estimate, since prices on ebay fluctuate and you want to insure at the highest rate possible to make sure that you could replace the collection if something happened. For the items that you can't find on ebay, I would go with Meg's Guide original prices and add a bit to the price if the outfit is retired. Be sure you take photos of all the stuff you are insuring, becuase they require that to collect. I personally have a MS database of all the items in my collection and their current (high-end) value. I'm working on the photos...

We have our collections on tape. It was a lot easier than pictures. Just get out the old friendly camcorder lay everything out and go for it. We did it by doll. Felicity has a tape,Molly etc. Be sure to update once a year at least. When we first insured a lot of the Felicity items were current. Needless to say her replacement cost has gone through a lot of updating the past couple of years.

They said I could even go on Ebay and look, but some of the items I have are not listed on Ebay.
